The mission of the Paul J. Tsang Foundation, a nonprofit organization formed in Poughkeepsie, NY, is to help facilitate educational or career opportunities for promising students and professionals in the arts and sciences. The foundation hopes to help individuals by offering tuition scholarships for higher education as well as providing for special projects outside a university setting. The foundation is also seeking to establish a collection of rare musical instruments to loan to aspiring young musicians.
In its formative years, the Paul J. Tsang Foundation
will focus its efforts on perpetuating the enjoyment of classical music,
in the memory of Paul J. Tsang, by increasing the understanding and education
of classical music among young people. It will accomplish this by
giving annual grants and/or scholarships to people and nonprofit organizations
who are striving to realize this goal. Grants will be awarded annually
on a need and merit basis. As the foundation’s resources grow to an appropriate
level, so it will branch out to offer grants and/or scholarships in the
other arts and sciences.
